Special Diet and Poverty

If we ended poverty tomorrow which could be done with the stroke of a pen by the various levels of government (it is not as complex as we are led to believe)...where would all the displaced employed people go...as their services would no longer be required. Much like the auto industry, we cannot have all these people unemployed hence the bail out...
