They just turned out to be too fragile. Most people have ways of dealing with adversity –we make it through. And for some reason, these two did not. I will never stop trying to figure out why and perhaps by doing so will save not only my own sanity but prevent further implosion from occurring.
The medical community is well aware but to date have failed to sound the alarm on these daily occurrences
Fostering an open dialogue
There was no excuse for the treatment – the institutions crossed a line defined by the point at which they drive someone to suicide. But this is madness. What they did was wrong, and we have to learn how to correct these abuses even when their victims can take it. Nothing will ever change if we measure other people’s actions in units of suicides.
If we ended poverty tomorrow which could be done with the stroke of a pen by the various levels of government (it is not as complex as we are led to believe)...where would all the displaced employed people go...as their services would no longer be required. Much like the auto industry, we cannot have all these people unemployed hence the bail out... Therefore, I understand what the thread of discussion is...I have never had a lawyer in poverty law take on a case for me..On the other hand, those I know personally have experienced the same...we for the most part have been forced to do for ourselves in many areas...and get kicked down one more time for attempting to escape the poverty class and I don`t belong here …but due to circumstances beyond my control here I sit..and without a family doctor or a doctor willing to fill out forms a person is caught on OW and expected to meet all the qualifiers for a meager existence.
